Extra-Curricular Activities

School Trips

Pupils go on at least one school trip a year, and in Years 5 and 6 pupils go on a Residential trip. In the past few years, pupils have visited:

  • Mother Shiptons Cave

  • Young Voices music event (school choir) at Sheffield Arena

  • Modern Alchemist at the Royal Hall

  • Henshaws

  • Robinwood (Year 5 residential)

  • Bewerley Park, Pateley Bridge (Year 6 residential)

  • Crucial Crew

  • Mother Shipton's Cave

  • Cannon Hall Farm

  • Saltaire

  • Thackary Museum


Sports

In School - All pupils take part in House Cup sporting events in school, such as multi-skills, skipping and cross country.

Competitions - Pupils  compete with other schools in the following sports:

  • Gymnastics

  • Cross Country

  • Football

  • Swimming

  • Netball

  • Athletics

  • Rounders

  • Kwik Cricket

  • Orienteering

  • Tag Rugby


Swimming Lessons

Pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5 each swim for one term of the school year.  Lessons are at 9am on Thursday mornings at Knaresborough Pool and last 30 mins. Pupils walk under supervision to and from the pool, or may be dropped off directly at the pool.


Music

The local authority music service offers a wide range of instrumental lessons for Key Stage 2 pupils at very reasonable rates. Also Mr Stuart Foster offers vocal tuition, please contact the school office if your child is interested.
