After a long wait for the competition to be arranged the Year 6 Tag Rugby team finally got a chance to play in the Harrogate Partnership final.

The team started a little slowly coming up short in both their opening fixtures. However they soon began to find their form that had crowned them Knaresborough champions and ran in some impressive victories. In total the team played in 8 matches winning 3, losing 3 and drawing 2.

Overall St Mary's finished 5th in the standings and can be very proud of their efforts after not been involved in Tag Rugby for several months before the final was arranged.

Year 5 & 6 Sportshall Athletics North Yorkshire Final

Medal heartache for the Year 5 & 6 Sportshall Athletics team as they finished in an agonising 4th place in the North Yorkshire School Games Finals.

After claiming the Knaresborough title and the Harrogate Area title the team went to Catterick to compete against 8 other champion schools from across the county.

There were some amazing performances on the track and in the field with every child giving every last bit of effort and energy to gain as many points as they could for our team.

As the results were read out the children were initially disappointed with their 4th place finish. However they were soon reminded about what an amazing achievement it was to have not only qualified for the competition by being Harrogate champions but finishing that high up in the standings against other large champion schools was superb. Every child can be hugely proud of their efforts and achievements throughout all the Sportshall Athletics competitions.
