Religious Education
Religious Education is a core subject in all Catholic Schools. Here at St Mary’s we recognise its importance and the teaching of RE is given 10% of our timetabled teaching time.
Lighting the Path is our whole-school curriculum journey from EYFS to Year 6, designed to help every child grow in knowledge, skills, confidence and faith. Through carefully planned learning experiences, pupils build on what they already know, making meaningful connections and developing a deeper understanding over time. By "lighting the path", we support each child to flourish academically, spiritually and personally, preparing them for the next stage of their education and life.
We have daily Collective Worship; Whole School Assemblies and Collective Worship on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons and class based Collective Worship on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We have regular whole school masses and Key Stage 2 children go to church at least twice a term for Wednesday morning Parish Mass.
